Gal Gadot became a global sensation when she landed the role of Wonder Woman in the 2016 movie adaptation. Despite her current fame and recognition, the 32-year-old actress has revealed that she nearly gave up on acting before her big break. In an interview with Glamour magazine, Gadot shared that she had considered leaving Los Angeles and returning to her home country of Israel. She is happily married to Yaron Versano, with whom she shares two children.
Confession time: Gal Gadot, the current talk of the town, has revealed that prior to her breakthrough as a mainstream actor, she almost gave up on the profession altogether. With her new movie Justice League set for release on November 17, Gadot’s star continues to soar, as evidenced by her stunning photo shoot for Glamour in which she rocked various plunging, sequined outfits. However, despite her current success and fame, the former Miss Israel 2004 shared in her interview that it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. In fact, before landing the role of Wonder Woman, she had considered abandoning her acting career altogether and returning to Israel to work sporadically in the industry while pursuing other educational interests.
It’s almost done: The gifted performer, aged 32, who is a mother of two with her spouse Yaron Versano, disclosed to Glamour magazine that she had considered moving back to her home country, Israel, before achieving success in Los Angeles.
The fruits of my labor have finally paid off! After being chosen to play the iconic comic book character, Wonder Woman, alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in 2016, my career skyrocketed to international recognition. However, the acting industry can be tough, and I faced countless rejections and disappointments. The process of auditioning, getting callbacks, and ultimately being told your life could change with a role, only to be turned down, can be crushing. Fed up with false promises, I reached a point where I no longer wanted to subject myself to this cycle. As a mother and wife, I also had to consider the impact of constantly traveling for work on my family. My husband had a lot of work in Tel Aviv, and bringing our daughter to LA to look for acting opportunities added even more pressure to an already stressful situation.
Gal was overwhelmed by the sheer number of rejections she had received. It seemed like every opportunity was met with disappointment, and this constant cycle of broken promises and dashed hopes had her seriously considering a return to her home country of Israel.
Being a mother to her two daughters and a wife to her husband Yaron Versano, whom she married in 2008, Gal felt the pressure of taking them with her to Los Angeles. She realized how tough it was when she heard “no” multiple times, and she began to question her abilities. However, Gal’s fortunes changed when she landed the role of Wonder Woman. Gal is more than just a pretty face; she was studying law before pursuing modelling, pageantry, and acting. While reflecting on her past, Gal expressed her gratitude that her law career did not go as planned. She had convinced herself that being a lawyer would allow her to make peace and facilitate agreements between people.
“I would have been a terrible lawyer”: Gal is not just a pretty face, she had pursued a degree in law before her successful career in modeling, pageantry, and acting. However, she confessed that she was relieved that the legal profession did not work out for her.
Gal is getting ready for the release of her new film Justice League on November 17th. Although she had considered leaving Los Angeles, she now calls it home with her husband Yaron Versano and their two children, Alma and Mya. While Gal is excited about her upcoming movie, she admits that conflicts are not her forte, and she prefers to focus on harmony and Zen. Gal’s full photoshoot can be found in the December issue of British Glamour, available starting October 30th.
