Sydney Labrador’s Big Adventure: Embarks on a 33km Journey Through Melbourne’s Train Network

A brave little dog named Storm went on an unexpected adventure when he escaped from his home and hopped on a train to explore the city. Storm, a white labrador, was captured on camera boarding a Melbourne Metro train at Hoppers Crossing and was later found at Flinders Street Station, one hour away from his original location. The adventurous pup had traveled 33km from Sydney with his owners before breaking free and embarking on his solo journey. He was spotted wandering around the platform at Hoppers Crossing before confidently boarding the train. An hour later, a train driver arrived at Flinders Street Station holding onto the cheerful dog, who seemed thrilled by his impromptu city excursion.

The brave dog was spotted in Melbourne enjoying time with his owners after his exciting city adventure. A station staff member approached the trio, and the dog was taken away on a leash to a dogs’ home. Melbourne Metro Trains later confirmed on social media that the dog had been safely reunited with his owners and shared a video of him playing in a park. Commuters who watched the video expressed their wish to have encountered the courageous dog on their own journeys. One person commented that it would be the best day ever to have the dog jump on their train. Another likened the dog’s journey to a character in a popular children’s book, calling it “Spot’s adventure day.” There were also humorous comments about the dog possibly needing a Myki card for public transport and joking about the dog giving a review of his trip, with one person suggesting that the dog’s review would describe the train as a “tube-like portal filled with humans that takes you to another world.”
